The Crossing Journal
A crossing you cannot carry home stays a dream, and the surest way to carry one home is to write it down before the mesmerism closes over it.
This is the Crossing Journal: a structured record, kept in two halves. The first half is written before the attempt, while you still know honestly where your mind has been dwelling and what you are setting down. The second half is written after, and its discipline is the one I keep repeating because it is the whole craft of the return:
Record what happened before deciding what it means. A plain report is more useful than a magnificent one you cannot trust.
Everything you write here stays in this browser, on this device. Nothing is sent to me or to anyone; there is no account and no server behind this page. You can export any entry as a plain text file, print it, or clear it all, and if you clear your browser's stored data, the entries go with it, so export what you want to keep.
