Report a Crossing

If you have made an attempt, I want the record of it, and so do the ones who will stand where you stood.

A good report is plain. Write what happened before deciding what it means, keep your interpretation fenced off from your experience, and let the uncertain section be as long as it honestly is. "Nothing happened" is a real result and a useful one. Do not decorate; the shelf this goes on is built out of trust, and one magnificent report that cannot be trusted costs more than fifty quiet ones.

Two courtesies before you write. Remove identifying details about other people; your spouse, your friend, your teacher did not agree to appear here. And choose the name you want to be called, which does not need to be yours.

What happens after: the form below builds your report as a plain text message, and you send it yourself, from your own email, to me. This site transmits nothing. I read everything that arrives. If you have given permission, I may publish it, edited only for clarity, privacy, and length, never to change what you say happened. I answer what I can.
